We’ve got HUGE news… Holtz Leather is opening a new store in Apalachicola, Florida!
Because remodeling an old church in Huntsville wasn’t keeping us busy enough, we decided to take on a historic building in downtown Apalach, too. 😂
If you’ve heard Tim McGraw’s song “Southern Voice,” you’ve heard of Apalachicola. Hands down one of our favorite places and full of southern charm.
FUN FACT: Apalachicola was known as the oyster capital of the world. For over a century, Apalachicola Bay produced roughly 90% of Florida's wild-caught oysters and about 10% of the entire U.S.A. supply.

Our new store is coming to the corner of Market Street and Avenue D in downtown Apalachicola, in a building that dates back to 1905.
If you live nearby or find yourself vacationing on St. George Island, or Cape San Blas come see us once the doors open. You won’t be disappointed!
ps.
The week after we closed on the building, we got the full Florida welcome package… a hurricane in the gulf. Apparently, that costs extra, and nobody mentioned it at closing. 😂

Jacob spent about three days sanding multiple layers of paint off these old wooden doors. Pretty sure he sanded through at least four owners and two world wars... jk 😂 He did an amazing job!
