This patch is of the STS-49 NASA Mission Patch. STS-49 was NASA's Maiden flight of the space shuttle Endeavour, launched on May 7, 1992. With Commander Brandenstein and the rest of his team, Endeavours primary goal of the nine day mission was to retrieve a satellite which had failed to leave the low earth orbit.
