Imposters - Inferior Leathers
IN ORDER OF VALUE:
Top Grain Leather: This type of leather has had a light sanding to remove imperfections in the hide so that it looks more uniform. This however effects integrity and strenght of the hide.
Genuine Leather - This is the scrap that hits the ground from splitting leather. It is usually sprayed and stamped to look like full grain leather. Another popular version of this is suede leather. These types of leather WILL NOT last!
Bonded Leather - The worst of all, this leather is like plywood. They take all the shavings and scraps and glue them together. They then spray it and stamp it to look like anything other than what it is.
